Dating Asian Women

It is not unusual to find that men are attracted to Asian women regardless of whether or not they are Asian themselves. It is a combination of attractive features and the values that they hold. Dating an Asian woman may seem to be an ideal situation but it is important to realize that Asian women may have very strong views of what is right and wrong and even their partner is not able to change that.

Tips at the Beginning

In the Asian community family is very important and it will be best to pay a great deal of attention to them. Remember their names and the relationship to your girlfriend and ask about them regularly. If you make the relationship work you will be around them for the rest of your life so it is best that you make a good impression from the beginning. It is no longer the case that daughters of Asian families are always completely controlled by the males in the family but it could be that this is the case. Their view of you will be important to her.

Respect

Asian women have high morals and will not appreciate being treated in the way a lot of Western woman accept. They will not be prepared to wait around or have their arrangements changed at the last minute. Often they are looking for marriage and so will not agree to be one of a number of girlfriends or agree to be there when it suits you. Sex before marriage is not the taboo it used to be but it will still not be as easy to persuade an Asian woman to sleep with you in the way you have managed to convince previous girlfriends. They will only agree to do this if they are sure in their own minds that you are the right person for them. It will take a lot of trust on their behalf so do not spoil that by being unfaithful after they have committed.

Culture

Many Asian women will keep to the culture of their descendants even if they were born in the West. The men are in control of the family and it is up to the wife to support her husband in all the decisions he makes. They will run the home, cook the meals and raise the children while the man goes about his daily life. Whatever he does his wife will still be waiting at home for him. They will have been told that men prefer woman who are shy and as they will have been left in the background of the family home often to allow brothers to shine, they may find it hard to assert their personality on the relationship. The slightest criticism may knock their growing confidence so always be careful with what you say.

At first you may have to do most of the talking as they will not be used to being treated as an equal and at home may still be expected to behave like a child – be seen and not heard. It must also be remembered that there is not just one Asian culture. There are things that one nationality will find acceptable that will be frowned upon in another. Make sure you read up about the correct culture before you make a costly mistake. Trying to make it easy for yourself by asking out right what nationality she is may backfire. It may not be immediately obvious but there are better ways to find out. Don’t worry about it at first and if you like her there will be plenty of chances to talk and find out different things about her. As she becomes more comfortable she will open up and before long you should be able to piece together her heritage and work out her nationality that way.

Meeting an Asian Woman

When a Western man and Asian woman are seen together it is often considered that there has been some sort of financial transaction carried out as there are many men who go abroad to find an Asian bride. It is still common but more relationships begin in the same way that any relationship will do. If you have decided that you do want to meet an Asian woman then there are plenty of places to go. Apart from the obvious such as bars and parties there are restaurants. Many Asian families in the West own businesses and all the family work there. If you can find a quiet time to visit you should find time to chat to one of the staff and see if you can arrange a date.

The Date

Once you have managed to secure a date make sure you behave in the correct way. Manners are very important so things such as swearing or belching will be frowned upon. It would be expected that any woman would object to that sort of behavior but it can be enough to make sure that an Asian woman will not even consider a second date even if it was meant to allow you to apologize for the first.

Your behavior will be much more important than anything else that happens on the first date. It does not have to be over the top or cost a fortune. It may be best to keep it simple so as the woman is not worried that you are expecting something for the money you have paid out. If you spent the evening making sure that she is looked after and feels as if you are trying to be kind to her it will mean more than any amount of money.

When planning the first date you will have to do everything. If you ask where she wants to go or what she wants to do you may appear weak and indecisive. These are not attractive qualities as far as Asian women are concerned. They want to think they have a man who can take control and protect them not be looking to them for advice and help. Don’t try to be too clever and arrange something that will make her feel uncomfortable. If you have just met it will be best to pick a place where there are plenty of other people around. A secluded bar or a walk in the woods may be romantic after a few months but for the first date it will not be considered appropriate.

During a quiet moment in any date it may be normal to look around the room and see who is around. Even if you are not looking for other women it may be assumed that you are but it will still be disrespectful not to give your date your full attention. If you wish to discuss her culture make sure you are not critical. It may be uncomfortable for her to discuss her heritage at all so if she feels she has to defend it you will appear rude and insensitive. She is an individual and should not be stereotyped because of her family roots.

Discretion is very important and it is unusual to find Asian women who are comfortable with public displays of affection. A polite good night kiss will be acceptable normally but try to read the signs first. If you make too many mistakes there will not be a second date. If you also find that you are failing to secure a second date with a stream of Asian woman you should look to your technique and maybe even decide that maybe you are not the sort of person who is going to be appealing to an Asian woman.
